GAAAHH!

Okay, the vet tried to streeeetch out my pain for as long as possible. First, there was the sad event. Second, a few days after, when we were all starting to feel better, they send us a card, a bit of my poor kitten's fur, and a couple paw prints. And THEN, a couple days later, they say that we can pick up his ashes, right after we were getting over the card. And that's why I haven't posted in so long. I've just been so sad.

On a happier note, its finally Saturday. This week just lasted forever, even though I had a four day school week, it was just extremely long.

Plus, I got third in a speech competition I was in! It was so nerve-racking, and only first place moved up. All of the girl's speeches were so good, and I went second to last. I was extremely nervous, and I felt like I was swallowing sandpaper. It took the judges forever to make a decision. But, on the plus side, there were cookies and juice. :-) I felt kind of bad when I found out that I was third, because I was with some close friends in the competition, and none of them were in the top three. I sit next to the second place girl in band, and she's really nice, but there were two other girls who I know really well, and they didn't get recognized. But everyone got a certificate for making it this far, so that's a good thing. Ever since I was little, I've been sort of overwhelmed by all my brother's math trophies, and now, I've got something. It's petty, but it makes me feel a bit better.

Something kind of interesting was said when all of the girls and I were talking while we were waiting for the judges to decide. We were all just chatting, telling everyone else how well they did, munching on the cookies, that sort of thing. The girl who got second and I were talking, and she said that when she was telling one of her friends that she was going to compete, they said "Good luck, but *insert my name here* is so gonna win." I felt really bad, and I told her that, but it was also the biggest compliment I've had in a while. I think it worked out great, though. We both got in the top three, and she gets to go tell her friend that she placed higher than me.

Mythbusters

Okay, this may be one of the coolest shows ever. Paid for the most fun science ever... ON TV! Best...job...ever.... Seriously. Whenever they say "Don't try this at home," my inner immaturity breaks out and immediately want to go out and try it! You gotta give me the diet coke and Mentos rocket, though. That's just all kinds of awesome. Diet coke and Mentos is cool on it's own, but making it into a rocket is just seriously awesome. I just wish that whole dead animals weren't such a big part of the show, however. It sickens me. The rest is just great, though. Science and laughter are two of my passions, so it's a nice combo.

I think that my favorite blooper is either the bike over wagon, or the vacuum incident. People getting hurt...funny. :-D

Sad news

Sorry I've been quiet. I had to put my little kitten to sleep yesterday. It was... horrible to say the least. His kidneys were all messed up, and he was so young the doctors knew he couldn't make it. So I held him, and my mom and I petted him to the end, the doctor came in and...he was gone. I take a little comfort in knowing that he was born with the problem, that there wasn't a thing we could have done, and that we gave him a good, happy home.

Food... some thoughts

I love Saturdays... it's 1:30 and I just finished breakfast. 'Twas a good one, too. Two crispy fried eggs, two pieces of toast, and orange juice. It's weird. I make these wonderful, tasty, healthy, big breakfasts on weekends, but on school mornings, I'm lucky if I eat at all. Don't get me wrong, I love to eat, I just love to sleep more. I grab up all the extra minutes possible, and so I barely have enough time to get dressed and get my hair and teeth brushed, that sort of thing. Supplying my body with nutrients is not top priority. Toast takes so long to cook, cereal takes a while to eat. Microwaved bacon might work, but no food with a face for this girl. So I go hungry. I go hungry during the ride to school. I go hungry during my morning classes. I go hungry until lunch, where I inhale my sandwich and apple, appalling my peers. But on weekends... well, considering the late hour of my dining today, that happens anyway. But I eat. And I do love to do that. I've never understood why people would intentionally starve themselves. Food is awesome. There's just nothing like it. Taste is just an awesome sensation. In conclusion... I like food.

First post.Yayness.

Hello, world! This is my first post, and I'm still getting used to the whole idea that I can just say what I want in this thing...so...yeah. I'm not too exciting, and I'm creating this blog for three reasons. 1.)I thought it would be fun. 2.)I needed to do something nerdy for my friends in order to compensate for betraying all of nerdom by watching football. 3.) Everyone-and I mean everyone on my favorite site, www.phantomoftheopera.com, was creating one. I gave in.

I'm incredibly nerdy, and I am extremely obsessed with The Phantom of the Opera and the movie "Titanic". I love musicals, and plan on becoming an astrophysicist one day. Told you I was nerdy. :-)

I think that's all for now. I'll be back pretty soon, I'm sure. :-)
